Hot dip zinc coated steel plates are made by immersing steel in molten zinc, forming a robust, adherent zinc layer. This ensures excellent corrosion resistance, durability in harsh conditions, and suitability for construction, automotive, and outdoor uses, blending strength with long-term reliability.

Outstanding Corrosion Resistance

  • Multi-Layered Protection: The hot-dip process creates a dense, multi-layer coating consisting of pure zinc (outer layer) and zinc-iron alloys (inner layers), which bond chemically with the steel substrate. This structure acts as a robust barrier against moisture, oxygen, and corrosive elements (e.g., salt, chemicals).

  • Sacrificial Anode Effect: Zinc corrodes preferentially to steel, meaning even if the coating is scratched or damaged, the remaining zinc will "sacrifice" itself to protect the exposed steel via cathodic protection, significantly slowing rust formation.

  • Adaptability to Harsh Environments: Performs exceptionally well in outdoor, coastal (salt spray), industrial, and high-humidity settings, far outlasting uncoated or lightly coated steel.

Exceptional Durability & Longevity

  • Extended Service Life: In typical environments, hot-dip zinc-coated plates offer a service life of 30–50 years (or longer in mild conditions), reducing the need for frequent replacements and lowering lifecycle costs.

  • Resistance to Physical Stress: The coating is highly ductile and adheres tightly to the steel, withstanding impacts, abrasions, bending, and temperature fluctuations without cracking, peeling, or flaking—critical for heavy-duty applications.

Uniform Coating Coverage

  • The hot-dip process ensures consistent zinc thickness across the entire surface, including edges, corners, welds, and recesses—areas often poorly protected by other coating methods (e.g., spray painting or electroplating). This uniformity eliminates weak points prone to corrosion.

Strong Mechanical Performance

  • Retention of Steel Properties: The base steel retains its inherent strength, tensile strength, and formability after galvanizing. Plates can be easily cut, welded, bent, or shaped using standard fabrication techniques without compromising structural integrity.

  • Versatile Thickness Options: Available in a range of gauges and zinc coating weights (e.g., 60–600 g/m²), allowing customization for applications requiring specific load-bearing or protective capabilities.
