Material grades and standards
S235/S275/S355 belong to the European standard low alloy structural steel series, which complies with EN 10210/EN 10219 and other specifications.
Meaning of suffix letters:
J: represents the minimum impact energy requirement (normal temperature impact);
B/R: usually refers to normal temperature impact performance (such as S235JR is equivalent to S235JB);
O/2: represents low temperature impact toughness (such as S355JO can be used at -20℃, S355J2 is suitable for -30℃).
Implementation standards include EN 10204 3.1B grade certification to ensure that the chemical composition and mechanical properties of the material are traceable.
Production process and specifications
Seamless process: formed by hot rolling or cold drawing, no welds, high strength and excellent pressure resistance.
Common specifications: outer diameter 10–720mm, wall thickness 1.24–100mm, support customized cutting.
Typical grade variants: S235JR, S275JO, S355J2H, S355NL (for low temperature), etc.

High strength and toughness:
The yield strength of the S355 series is ≥355MPa, which is better than S235 (≥235MPa) and S275 (≥275MPa), and is suitable for load-bearing structures.

Grades such as S355JO/J2 have passed the low temperature impact test and are suitable for cold environments (such as -20℃ to -30℃).
Processing adaptability:
Supports deep processing such as welding, bending, and stamping, and is widely used in machinery manufacturing and precision parts.

Used for large building frames, support columns, and bridge trusses (such as S355J2H hollow profiles).
Mechanical manufacturing and equipment
Engineering machinery hydraulic cylinders (SAE1020 precision honing tubes), elevator guide rails, and chemical equipment pipelines.
Energy and pressure vessels
Boiler tubes (20G/A106B), pressure vessel plates (P235GH), petrochemical pipelines (A333GR.6 cryogenic pipes).
Transportation
Railway transit vehicle structures, ship components (DNV/A32 ship plates).
