Characteristics and uses of different grades
A500 Grade B
Features: Relatively low in carbon content, with certain toughness and weldability.
Use: Suitable for general structural applications, such as some building structures and machinery manufacturing parts that do not require particularly high strength. In these application scenarios, the lower carbon content makes square tubes easier to weld and form during processing.
A500 Grade C
Features: Slightly higher carbon content, compared with Grade B, its strength and hardness have been improved, and it has better comprehensive mechanical properties.
Use: It can be used for building structures with high strength requirements, such as some large commercial buildings, frame structures of industrial plants, etc. In the field of machinery manufacturing, it can also be used to manufacture parts that bear large loads.
A500 Grade D
Features: In addition to the need for heat treatment, its low-temperature notch toughness is relatively good, and it can maintain good performance under certain low-temperature environments.
Use: Suitable for building structures in cold areas, or some special projects that require low-temperature performance, such as bridges in cold northern areas, outdoor steel structure facilities, etc. At the same time, it can also be used in some projects that have high requirements for structural safety and need to ensure stable performance in complex environments.
