Characteristics and uses of different grades
A500GR.B
Chemical composition characteristics: The carbon content is relatively low, suitable for general structural applications.
Mechanical properties: The minimum tensile strength is 400MPa, the minimum yield strength is 235MPa, and the minimum elongation is 21%. However, in terms of cold bending performance, it is slightly inferior to A500GR.C and A500GR.D.
Uses: Due to its performance characteristics, it is often used in general building structures, general machinery manufacturing and other fields that do not require particularly high strength, such as the frame structure of some small buildings, supporting parts of simple machinery, etc.
A500GR.C
Chemical composition characteristics: The carbon content is slightly higher, which makes it have better tensile strength and corrosion resistance, and is suitable for projects that require more durability.
Mechanical properties: The minimum tensile strength is 425MPa, the minimum yield strength is 315MPa, and the minimum elongation is 23%. And it performs better than A500GR.B in cold bending performance, and is more suitable for bending processing.
Uses: It can be used for projects that have certain requirements for structural durability and tensile strength, such as supporting structures of large buildings, parts of bridges, etc. A500GR.C is a good choice for projects that require bending of square tubes, such as making some curved architectural decorative structures.
A500GR.D
Chemical composition characteristics: Further increase in carbon content can provide higher yield strength, suitable for projects with greater pressure and load. This grade also requires heat treatment.
Mechanical properties: The minimum tensile strength is 485MPa, the minimum yield strength is 345MPa, and the minimum elongation is 21%. It also performs well in cold bending performance, which is comparable to A500GR.C.
Uses: It is often used in projects that bear heavy loads and high pressures, such as the main load-bearing structures of large bridges, the core support columns of high-rise buildings, etc. Because it can withstand greater pressure and load, it can ensure the safety and stability of the structure under complex working conditions.
